Crisp Tent

Crisp packets are made from a laminate of polypropylene and foil, developed to keep crisps fresh by making the packet impermeable to air. The material is difficult to recycle and slow to degrade, but its reflective surface and impermeability suggested a material for temporary shelters. Could used packets be converted from unwanted litter into something useful?

Project completed at London Metropolitan University architecture department under the guidance of studio 5 tutors Saskia Lewis, Cathy Hawley and Annalie Riches.
